About me
My name is Théo Schers, I'm Swiss, I'm 21 years old, and today I make a living from my passion for surfing.
I discovered this sport at the age of 7, when my parents moved abroad to Senegal. As soon as I arrived, I fell head over heels for the waves, and I've been immersed in this world ever since, for 14 years.
Nine years later, as my studies were nearing their end, I began to consider my professional future. An idea almost presented itself: to do an internship at my surf school to discover the job of an instructor. It was a real turning point; I knew then that I wanted to turn my passion into a career.
Back in Switzerland, I went to Alaïa Bay, the first wave pool in continental Europe. After obtaining my ISA 1 certification, I was lucky enough to get a job as a surf instructor, lifeguard, and wave guide. I stayed there for three years, while continuing to travel and train. This is how I obtained my ISA 2, allowing me to offer more personalised coaching.
I also had the opportunity to return to Senegal, then join a surf club in France, where I discovered competition-oriented coaching, a speciality that immediately fascinated me.
After three wonderful seasons at Alaïa Bay, an incredible opportunity arose: to work in the Maldives, at a 5-star hotel. Naturally, I couldn't refuse. This experience allowed me to perfect my skills, discover the world of luxury, and most importantly, learn to provide excellent service in a paradise setting.
This island taught me a great deal, both technically and personally. I had to adapt my approach to meet the high standards of this type of establishment, and that helped me to grow.
Returning more mature and more motivated than ever, I share my knowledge today through SPF Surf Coaching, a platform specialising in online surf coaching. My aim is to offer tailor-made support, adapted to each personality and each level.
In parallel, I'm continuing to travel and surf. You can discover my adventures and surf sessions on my Instagram account, where I regularly share my experiences.
